Travis Kling | Chief investment officer
Travis spent ten years in traditional finance before founding Ikigai. Most recently, he was a L/S Equity Portfolio Manager ($200mm) at Point72 ($90bn) through 2017. Prior to that, Travis was an Energy Analyst at Magnetar Capital ($4.6bn), 2011 to 2015, investing across the capital structure in L/S equities and non-control private equity and debt. From 2008 to 2010, he was an Investment Banker with Simmons & Company, focused on M&A. Travis has a BBA in Accounting and MS in Finance from Texas A&M University.
Timothy lewis | chief INNOVATION officer
Before founding Ikigai, Timothy spent 20 years in security, architecture, and data expediency. He has held top network and security certifications in Cisco and Microsoft, including CCIE (in written, security, R&S, and Voice), MCSE, MCDBA, CCDP, CCNP, and CCVP. Timothy led teams in development and security with organizations at Société Générale, Oracle, and Kaiser Permanente, and became involved with Bitcoin in late 2009. He was an early investor in Ethereum and began to advise on and invest in numerous other crypto asset projects starting in 2014. In early 2018, Timothy founded a leading EOS block producer, LibertyBlock.
Anthony Emtman | President
Anthony is an experienced leader and startup executive, building businesses in FinTech, blockchain, real estate, transportation, and video intelligence spaces before founding Ikigai. Anthony served as CFO for Jogg, a Disney Techstars company. Before that, he Co-Founded as CFO and Software Developer, MARK Labs, a Barclays Techstars company. Additionally, Anthony was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force serving as a Contracting Officer for Boeing Wideband Global SATCOM ($3bn) and as a Software Developer. He holds a BS in Economics from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a MS in Finance from Georgetown University.
christina Martin | Partner
Ms. Martin has 20 years experience in institutional trading, OTC markets, alternative assets and private placements. She has transacted hundreds of millions of dollars in fiat currency, currency derivatives and equity derivatives. Martin has invested in early-stage companies including a successful music touring company. Recently, she advised blockchain technology companies, Wyre and Aventus. Prior to that, Martin was VP of STW Fixed Income ($12bn), AVP of McCormack Advisors, Associate of Structured Products at Schwab and Visiting Researcher at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve. For 3 years, she was an elected Trustee of the University of Colorado Foundation & Endowment ($1bn). Ms. Martin did her MBA at UCLA and graduated CU Boulder with a BA in International Affairs, Summa Cum Laude.
Daniel Heller | DLT Economist
Daniel Heller is a financial sector expert and Senior Research Associate at the Centre for Blockchain Technologies at University College London (UCL). In 2017, he was a visiting fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington where he published widely on impact of emerging digital technologies such as blockchain on the financial sector, financial stability, and central banking. Before joining the Institute, he was head of financial stability at the Swiss National Bank, head of the Secretariat of the Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems at the Bank for International Settlements, and executive director for Switzerland, Poland, Serbia, Azerbaijan, and four Central Asian republics at the International Monetary Fund. He received his PhD from the University of Bern and was a research fellow at Stanford University.
Oliver zahn | Data Science
Trained as a multipurpose cosmologist, Oliver has spent the last 15 years solving problems in numerous fields with data science. Oliver’s doctoral work from 2003-2008 was in Theoretical and Computational Astrophysics at the Harvard University of Physics and Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.He spent 8 years, including as the Executive Director, in UC Berkeley’s Cosmology department, working on a team with two Nobel laureates and employing novel data science techniques to first discover Gravitational Lensing. From 2016-2018, Oliver was the lead Data Scientist at Impossible Foods, where he architected and implemented the use of data science to make the Impossible Burger smell like a burger. Oliver is currently the Head of Data Science at Google.
Travis Collins | full stack developer
Over the past 20 years, Travis has founded an auction software vendor (AuctionWell), a big data management vendor (Koverse), and a high speed algorithmic crypto trading fund (Crypto Strategies). Today, Travis is CEO of a cloud software services company (Big Armor), and CTO of a non-profit focused on technology for social workers (Connect Our Kids). Travis provides guidance for executive teams facing technology challenges including data management, custom software development, cyber-security risks, and tech team building.
